Join us for the Kayak Ecotour and Coastal Clean-Up Activity, where participants will engage in a unique experience paddling in sit-on-top tandem and sit-in touring kayaks along the stunning Wawa Cove while exploring the serene waters of Taal Lake. This event not only offers an opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty surrounding us, but also emphasizes the importance of environmental conservation as we work together to clean up the area, making a positive impact on our ecosystem. Whether you're an experienced paddler or a first-timer, this activity is designed for everyone, promising a memorable day filled with fun, learning, and a commitment to preserving our precious waterways.
An open category tandem sit-on-top kayak and single sit-in kayak race will take place for a 20-kilometer marathon starting from Wawa Boulevard Bay at 8 AM. Participants will paddle the pristine waters of Taal Lake, navigating towards Napayong Island. From there, the race will cross over to Bubuin Island, followed by a reach to Volcano Island. The race will conclude with a return to Wawa Boulevard, where kayakers will celebrate their endurance and achievement. This event promises an exciting challenge for both experienced paddlers and newcomers alike, highlighting the beauty of Taal Lake's scenic landscapes. All participants are encouraged to register in advance to secure their spot in this thrilling marathon adventure.
I. PARTICIPATION & ELIGIBILTY:
• Anyone regardless of any nationality with the right age who likes to join the event kayak you are welcome to join. limited slots only.
• Anyone who's physically fit to paddle(16km)
• Kayak Marathon and Kayak Ecotour include the use of Tandem Sit-on top kayak and if anyone wanted to use their own kayak you can do so (less php300.00 from published registration fee). And if you wish to upgrade your kayak from sit on top to sit-in single kayak, please see Kayak PH camp Kayak boat rental fee (limited slots only).
II. EQUIPMENT & GEARS:
• KAYAK – any kind of kayak such as Sit-on top Kayak, Sit-in kayak and skin on frame kayaks are allowed to join (subject for a handicap).
• SAFETY GEARS – Every participant must have PFD (Personal Floatation Device).
III. General Rules:
• Kayak Marathon is a water sport where athletes race long Kayaks (either Sit-on top or Sit-in kayaks) across calm water, attempting to reach the finish line in the fastest time possible. There will be Handicap rules in order to compensate the differences of each kayak:
Sit on top single or Tandem: Zero handicap (0 Min)
Sit In Single Kayak any type of length, plastic or Composite kayak (+10minutes)
• The objective of Kayak Marathon is to paddle to designated Checkpoints and reach back to the finish line in the fastest possible time.
• Use of alcohol and/or mind-altering drug use is prohibited prior to and during the event.
• Deliberate littering of the river is illegal. Teams must keep their trash in their vessel or go ashore to properly dispose of waste.
•. All participants agree to appear in event-related photography, videography and media coverage.
IV. Safety Rules:
• All participants should understand that there are risks involved in this endeavor. Constant vigilance, clear thinking and quick reaction will be essential at all times. Participants must use good judgment to determine when they should take a break. All team members (participants and support personnel) enter this event at their own risk and will not hold this event’s organizers, judges, officials and sponsors liable for accidents to and or damage to any property.
• All participants must check-in with their boat and required safety gear and must attend the entire pre-event meeting
• Event organizers may notify participants to require them to go to shore in the event of severe weather, but participants should on their own go to shore in the event of dangerous conditions. Lightning Safety; if lightning is seen or thunder is heard, get off the water immediately and seek shelter. Thirty minutes after seeing lightning or hearing thunder, participants may proceed down the course.
• In the event of an emergency all participants should call event officials and alternative emergency number (phone number will be given out at the pre-event meeting). event officials cannot guarantee they will be available. However, assistance may take hours to reach you, especially in adverse conditions, and all participants need to be prepared to self-rescue and/or in a nearby Island find assistance if needed.
• If a participant asks for your assistance in an emergency you are obligated to help them to the degree that you can without harming your boat or yourself.
• Every boat must have a cell phone with activated cellular service that can be used to place an emergency call and reached by event organizers via phone call and/or text message.
• Checkpoints and cut off times; all participants must arrive by the cut-off times listed

Wawa Blvd Brgy Gonzales Tanauan (finish line) 4:00pm
Note: There are multiple Standby boats, Napayong Island and Bubuin Island that provide the opportunity to stop and take a break.
V. RESPECT YOUR FELLOW KAYAKER, ENJOY & HAVE FUN GOOD LUCK!!!
1. The race will start from the KP Camp, Wawa Road lake front paddling around Napayong Island for 5-6 km. Then pass by Bubuin Island for another 7-8 km. Then continue closing in at the Tip of the Taal Volcano Island for around 9km. Finishing back to Kayak Phils. base camp with approximately 16km total distance all in all.
2. The race opens with the category for the slightly slow kayak Sit-On-Top(SOT) will start first. Followed by the Sit-in Kayak after 10mins and then the surfski after 15min of SOT.
3. There will be three(3) safety boats stationed at: 1st near the Napayong Island: 2nd at a turn around point near the Taal Volcano Island closed to the buoy marker. Time and recorder at mid point. And the 3rd Safety Boat will be assigned to do roving. All safety boats will do roving, after the last paddler passed.
4. Approximate completion time is 2hrs to 5hrs in the 16km paddling distance depending on the speed of the paddlers, weather and wind conditions.
5. One sweeper paddler will follow the last paddler. shall inform and update the safety boats as necessary. After the last paddler pass the safety boats.

Inclusions, reservations and payment:
24 hours use of resort facilities and amenities including dirty kitchen and cooking utensils plus free 1 gallon of mineral water. Additional Php500.00 if you're going to use the gas/stove. The resort requires a Php2000.00 security deposit.
In order to confirm your reservations, we require 50% down payment.
Kindly note that your reservation is considered tentative and will be confirmed only upon receipt of the 50% down payment. We reserve the right to release your booking if no deposit is made within 48 hours.
Please also note that we do not allow refund but we allow one time rebooking due to Taal eruption or lockdown only.
